ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has been chosen as one of the 18 members to join the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Global Digital Innovation Board.

The board, a crucial component of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development under the ITU, is dedicated to accelerating efforts to bridge the digital innovation gap on a global scale.

Owalo expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, emphasizing its significance in Kenya’s digitalization journey and the pivotal role of ICTs in propelling the nation’s economic transformation.

“The government is counting on ICTs to address various societal challenges, such as unemployment, poverty, and public delivery constraints,” Owalo stated.
