Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen on over the weekend officially launched the newly constructed Nairobi Expressway Haile Selassie Exit Plaza.

The five-lane exit is set to provide easier access for motorists traveling from Mlolongo, JKIA, and other entry points along Mombasa Road to Nairobi CBD, Ngong Road, and Upper Hill. Murkomen emphasized the significance of the new exit in alleviating traffic congestion from the Capital Centre to the Haile Selassie roundabout.

He commended Moja Express for completing the infrastructural adjustment within a remarkable five-month period, underscoring their responsiveness to public demands and commitment to expanding Kenya’s infrastructure.

In a statement, Murkomen declared, “This infrastructural adjustment, which has been completed within five months, signifies the responsiveness of Moja Express to public demands and their readiness to work with the government in expanding Kenya’s infrastructural network.”

Additionally, Murkomen announced the government’s ongoing collaboration with both local and international investors and contractors to launch more infrastructure projects under the Public-Private Partnership model.

He cited the Rironi-Mau Summit road project and the Kiambu Road expansion project as examples, aiming to reduce government expenditure on road construction and public debt.

The event was attended by Roads PS Joseph Mbugua, KENHA DG Kung’u Ndung’u, and Moja Express CEO Steve Zhao, among other dignitaries. Stay tuned for further updates on this groundbreaking development.
