Health CS Nakhumicha Wafula continues her efforts in utilizing diverse platforms, including sports, to promote preventive and promotive healthcare, as she upholds her commitment to comprehensive and accessible healthcare.

The Health Ministry CS joined the residents of Lukusi in Webuye East Constituency, Bungoma County, to witness the final match of the Investors Cup tournament organized by the Area MP Hon. Martin Pepela.

The final match was between Mihuu FC and Lutacho FC, a closely contested match that ended in a draw. Lutacho FC won on penalties and crowned winners.

“Football and sports in general unite us all regardless of age, gender, or social status. Sports promote health and foster a sense of belonging and unity among individuals,” said Hon. Nakhumicha.

Recognizing the potential of sports in encouraging physical activity for better health, there’s a growing trend in emphasizing the health benefits of sports and exercise activities.

“Sport, exercise, and physical activity are pivotal in promoting an active lifestyle. They have become integrated into various programs and policies, especially within elite sport organizations, as outlined by the World Health Organization,” remarked Nakhumicha.

Sports medicine aims at promoting, educating, forming, providing recreation, fostering competition, offering therapy, and aiding rehabilitation.

Through initiatives like community sports engagement, the government, represented by CS Nakhumicha Wafula, aims to enhance the overall health and well-being of the community, utilizing diverse platforms to advance accessible and preventive healthcare across the constituency.
