Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced the Government’s dedication to fully implementing the Competency Based Curriculum, emphasizing its role in equipping learners with essential skills for national development.

Addressing a gathering at Nyahururu Munyaka Mixed Secondary School in Laikipia County on Monday, Mr. Gachagua reiterated the administration’s focus on educational reforms to meet the evolving needs of the country.

In a resolute statement, the Deputy President declared, “This year, the Government committed 27% of our budget to education to support the implementation of the Presidential Working Party Recommendations. We are implementing the CBC, alongside a revised funding model to enhance access to quality education.”

With a substantial allocation of over Ksh 628 billion to the Education Sector in the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Mr. Gachagua assured parents and stakeholders of the transformative impact these reforms will have on the workforce.

Furthermore, he pledged continued investments in school infrastructure enhancements to address existing gaps hindering the educational landscape. To kickstart these efforts, the Deputy President disbursed Ksh 5 million towards the completion of the school’s dining hall, with a promise of additional funding in the upcoming financial year.
