Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has officially launched the National Peace Support Operations (PSOs) Fund at Kahawa Garrison in Nairobi.
In a statement, CS Duale emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “This marks a new chapter in President Ruto’s government’s commitment to promoting peace and stability both regionally and globally.”
In a symbolic gesture of support, CS Duale also flagged off the first contingent-owned equipment destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo as part of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in DRC (MONUSCO). “This equipment represents our unwavering dedication to restoring peace in the region,” CS Duale declared.
The event was attended by esteemed military officials, including Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla and Vice CDF Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi, highlighting the government’s strong support for the mission.
This initiative emphasizes President Ruto’s administration’s proactive approach to peacekeeping efforts and its commitment to contributing to global peace and security.
With the launch of the PSOs Fund, Kenya solidifies its position as a key player in international peace support operations, demonstrating its determination to foster peace both at home and abroad.
