The Ministry of Interior and National Administration, represented by PS Raymond Omollo, has pledged unwavering support to the Ministry of Education in ensuring the successful administration of the 2023 National Examinations. During the launch of the examination season at New Mitihani House, South C, Nairobi, top officials, including Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, PS Basic Education Dr. Bellio Kipsang, PS TVET Esther Mworia, Chair KNEC Prof. Julius Nyabundi, and TSC CEO Nancy Macharia, convened to discuss the forthcoming examinations.
One of the key responsibilities of the Ministry of Interior will be to provide seamless coordination, administration, and security measures to guarantee the effective delivery of the National Exams. To achieve this, a collaborative effort with National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) and the National Police Service (NPS) has been initiated. These stakeholders will play a pivotal role in safeguarding 576 storage and distribution centers nationwide during the exercise.
Moreover, they will be entrusted with conducting summative assessments to evaluate the readiness of the centers, particularly in light of the projected El Nino rains. This proactive approach ensures that all parties involved are well-prepared for any potential emergencies, allowing the National Examinations to proceed smoothly and without disruption.
With the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to providing security and support, the Education Ministry can focus on the crucial task of administering the exams, maintaining their integrity, and ensuring a fair and transparent evaluation process for all candidates. This collaborative effort underscores the government’s dedication to upholding the quality and credibility of Kenya’s education system.
