The National Productivity and Competitiveness Center (NPCC) recently convened a Sensitization Forum on Productivity Mainstreaming in the Public Sector for National Housing Corporation (NHC) employees.
The event illuminated the critical role NHC is poised to play in the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
This forum, presided over by Secretary Productivity, Dr. Nahashon L. Moitaleel, underscored the vital importance of elevating productivity levels in Kenya to achieve the government’s overarching objective of enhancing service delivery to the nation’s citizens. Dr. Moitaleel emphasized that this endeavor is a cornerstone of President Ruto’s BETA, which aims to construct 200,000 low-cost, affordable housing units for Kenyan citizens, particularly those who are striving to make a living.
At the core of this ambitious housing project is the commitment to providing Kenyan citizens with economical housing solutions that not only offer shelter but also uphold the dignity of their living conditions. Moreover, it seeks to address the persistent issue of slums, which have been a longstanding menace in various parts of the country.
The NHC has assumed a pivotal role in this transformative housing initiative, being designated as the primary process owner. This central responsibility places the NHC in a strategic position to drive the success of the affordable housing project, ensuring that the vision of affordable and dignified housing becomes a reality.
President William Ruto’s dedication to addressing the housing challenges faced by ordinary Kenyan citizens is unequivocal. By focusing on the aspirations of Kenyan hustlers and striving to eradicate slums, his administration aims to uplift the living standards of numerous families. The affordable housing initiative, anchored in the BETA agenda, not only pledges to offer a resolution to the housing predicament but also to stimulate economic growth and employment opportunities in the construction sector.
NPCC Sensitization Forum has illuminated the indispensable role of the NHC in President Ruto’s visionary plans to provide 200,000 affordable housing units for Kenyan citizens. This initiative, aligned with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, holds the promise of cost-effective housing, improved dignity in living conditions, and the eradication of the scourge of slums.
As President Ruto’s vision gains momentum, it is evident that this endeavor has the potential to significantly impact the lives of Kenyan hustlers and all citizens in need of affordable housing, setting the stage for a more prosperous and promising future.
