The Government Performance and Delivery Roadshow was earlier kicked off with a review and evaluation of the performance and delivery of government programs and projects by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports. Hon. Ababu Namwamba, the Cabinet Secretary to this ministry hosted the event.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs were glad to report their key achievements that included:

1. Lifting of FIFA and World Aquatics Bans.

2. Bagging the rights to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON27).

Attending this review, the Ministry of Public Service Hon. Moses Kuria expressed his pride in fellow cabinet colleague, Hon. Ababu Namwamba whose strategic intervention led to the lifting of the ban and the subsequent win to host the AFCON27.

The lift is a significant and monumental win for the country.

Cabinet Secretary Abadu also reported on the projects and programs that are work in progress which included:

1. The establishment of 3 Sports Academies to be completed by December 2024.

2. The completion of the 10 stadia by July 2024.

3. The establishment of youth football teams from the Talanta Hela Pipeline and the creation of a national talent pool.

4. Mainstreaming of youths, sports and creatives across the government using Performance Contracting.

5. Roll out of the KES. 20B NYOTA (National Youth Opportunities towards Advancement) Project across the country.

6. Identify youth (The Green Army) across the country to spearhead the climate conservation agenda.
