Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Water, Hon. Alice Wahome has inspected the ongoing Eastern Nairobi Water and Sewerage Network Intensification Project.

This is an ongoing project that is aimed at improving sanitation and clean water accessibility to numerous Kenyans in the Eastern region of Nairobi.

Water scarcity in the eastern regions of Nairobi has been an incessant challenge to thousands of Kenyans living in these areas. Open and unmaintained sewer lines have been an unfortunate concern that has continued to endanger the lives of the common Mwananchi in the regions.

The Kenya Kwanza government has made the commitment to make strides in eliminating poverty through equitable access to clean and safe water. The government aims at providing all Kenyans with all the basic needs from healthcare, education, improve food security and infrastructure and clean water for both domestic and commercial use.

The project involves:

– Laying of approximately 220 Km water distribution network pipeline.

– Laying of sewer lines and sewer last mile connections, for the areas of Kariobangi North & South, Marura, Umoja III/Riverbank, Maili Saba, Umoja Innercore, Embakasi, Mihango, and Plot 10 areas
