President William Ruto has announced the appointment of 16 women as ambassadors to represent Kenya on the global stage. The president made this announcement today, Friday, 8th March 2024, at a women’s conference in Embu, coinciding with the celebration of International Women’s Day.

“This appointment is a tribute and a token of appreciation to women,” declared President Ruto, highlighting the transformative impact of gender equality in governance. Additionally, he unveiled plans to amend the constitution to enhance the inclusion of women in decision-making processes, promoting gender balance.

“We are resolute in our commitment to implementing the two-third gender rule,” affirmed Ruto, emphasizing the government’s unwavering support for women’s progression in leadership roles.

He lauded women cabinet secretaries for their outstanding performance in advancing the Kenya Kwanza manifesto, acknowledging their indispensable role in national development.
