As a coffee farmer in Kenya, I want to express my unwavering support for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the transformative initiatives he has undertaken to bring about change in our beloved coffee industry.

For far too long, coffee farmers like me have struggled under the dominance of powerful cartels. These cartels manipulated prices, leaving us with meager profits, and vehemently opposed any reforms that could benefit us. Our voices went unheard, and our struggles continued.

But now, thanks to DP Gachagua’s relentless efforts, the tide is turning in our favor. The government’s decision to provide an advance payment of Sh4 billion to coffee farmers is a significant step towards dismantling the cartels’ control. This financial support is a lifeline for many of us, ensuring that we can sustain our livelihoods and invest in our coffee farms with renewed hope.

Furthermore, the prospect of Kenyan coffee finding its place in Starbucks, the world’s largest coffee chain, is a game-changer. Direct sales to Starbucks mean better prices for our coffee, and this partnership will elevate the quality and reputation of Kenyan coffee on the global stage.

I want to assure DP Gachagua that we, the coffee farmers, stand firmly by his side. We are committed to supporting his mission until every trace of these oppressive cartels is wiped out from our industry. The reforms are our beacon of hope, and we believe that under DP Gachagua’s leadership, the future of Kenyan coffee is brighter than ever.

In unity and determination, we will bring about the positive change we’ve longed for; ensuring that coffee farming in Kenya becomes a source of prosperity for us all. Deputy President Gachagua, we are with you every step of the way in this transformative journey.
