Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi says more than 100 trucks carrying fertilizers, have successfully reached the Eldoret and Kitale NCPB depots.

Ministry of Agriculture recently highlighted the government’s commitment to providing 12.5 million bags of subsidized fertilizer this year.

Speaking during the official launch of the Eldoret Agricultural Show, CS Linturi emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting farmers across the country, for adequate food production.

The Agriculture Cabinet Secretary has apologized for the delayed distribution of subsidized fertilizer to farmers in the country.

The Ministry of Agriculture has also partnered with the Council of Governors to ensure the subsidized fertilizers reach farmers in all corners of the country.

Agriculture CS has also urged farmers to register and redeem vouchers for fertilizers, saying the government has ensured that there is sufficient supply.

In a bid to reduce the reliance on imported edible oils, the CS recently announced that for every purchase of subsidized fertilizer, farmers will receive free sunflower seeds.  This move underscores the government’s dedication to bolstering agricultural self-sufficiency
