Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has embarked on a mission to address a longstanding land dispute in Nairobi West involving double allocation of Land Title Numbers between Almubarak and Civil Servants estates. CS Wahome has pledged to resolve this issue within three weeks, emphasizing the importance of cooperation from all affected parties.
In a statement, CS Wahome stressed the need for affected individuals to surrender their old title deeds to facilitate the processing of new titles. She highlighted the legal requirement that original title deeds must be surrendered for cancellation before new ones can be issued.
Assuring the safety of the title deeds, CS Wahome, accompanied by senior ministry officials including PS Lands Gen. Nixon Korir and the Chief Land Registrar, urged stakeholders to trust in the Ministry’s commitment to address land disputes and prevent land grabbing.
CS Wahome reiterated the Ministry’s zero-tolerance stance towards land grabbing and affirmed ongoing efforts to reclaim public land that has been unlawfully taken.
