In a show of support and encouragement, President William Ruto visited Kikuyu Primary Township candidates today, just moments before they commenced their national exams. As 3.5 million candidates across the country began their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), President Ruto offered his heartfelt prayers and well-wishes for their success.

This year’s KCPE marks a significant transition as it is the last round of Class Eight national exams under the 8-4-4 system. The Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and the corresponding Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) are set to replace the existing system.

During his visit, President Ruto took a moment to offer a prayer, beseeching the heavens for the students’ good health and a clear state of mind. He also extended his prayers to all those involved in the examination process, from invigilators to exam managers. His prayer encompassed the hope that the exams would proceed smoothly.

“We pray you to give them confidence. We pray for invigilators and exam managers and for transportation. We pray for all our children that none of them will be sick or distracted,” he said.

President Ruto actively supervised the opening of the examination papers and assisted in distributing them to the students, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing students with a conducive environment for their educational advancement.

“As our children begin their exams this morning, we pray for their success. We are with them on this journey; we have provided enough space for their progress in education,” he affirmed.

This gesture by President Ruto serves as a message of support and encouragement for the young learners, reinforcing the importance of education and the nation’s commitment to nurturing its future leaders.
