The Kenya Kwanza government has made a commitment to improve clean water accessibility to all Kenyans through the launch of projects such as the Mwache Dam Projects in Kilifi, the High Grand Falls Dams that will also be a source of hydroelectric power and others.

H.E President Ruto has also made the promise to partner with various international organizations and countries in the construction of about 100 dams as well as irrigation projects all over the country.

The irrigation projects will provide job opportunities to many Kenyans seeking to pursue agriculture as an economic venture.

Programs such as the Edible Oil Crop Promotion Project by the Ministry of Agriculture is encouraging many farmers in the country to look into diverse crops such as sunflower and cashew nuts to enable the government reach the 5 year goal to produce about 92% of the country’s edible oil. Such programs as this can only be a success in the presence of water in all the corners of the country.

Accessibility to clean water will also improve the health of many Kenyans who are at the risk of water borne diseases brought about by lack of clean water. A healthy nation is a nation one step closer to eliminating poverty.
