Dr. Alfred Mutua, CS to the Ministry of Tourism yesterday met with the members of the Kenya Tourism Board where the need to strategize and overhaul the tactics in promoting Kenya as a tourism destination was the main agenda.

Kenya, as the Cabinet Secretary highlighted, is an alluring country with pristine beaches, iconic wildlife and national parks and culturally rich. He emphasized on the importance of leveraging the right media to encapsulate Kenya’s beauty effectively.

During this session, CS Mutua announced plans for an upcoming retreat uniting stakeholders from the private sector. Collaboration is paramount, and he underscored the necessity of working hand in hand with the private sector to devise innovative strategies to entice potential tourists.

Recognizing the pivotal role of funding in successful marketing, he assured the board of his Ministry and the government’s commitment to ensuring adequate financial support for the Kenya Tourism Board.

The news of the impending retreat and the promise of financial backing resonated positively among attendees, fostering enthusiasm and a collective sense of purpose.

The CS outlined a clear vision. That together, the Ministry and KTB will not only elevate tourism but also establish a sustainable industry benefiting our economy while preserving Kenya’s natural treasures.

Hon. Mutua has also emphasized the promotion of sustainable tourism practices, and leveraging technology to enhance the overall visitor experience which must include tourists’ safety through effective security measures and clear communication of safety guidelines.
