Cabinet Secretary Hon. Soipan Tuya today held a meeting with representatives of Tomorrow.io led by its Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Mr. Rei Goffer to discuss the partnership between the Kenyan government and the organization.

President Ruto’s government is now pursuing new opportunities for enhancing national weather and climate services that include partnerships with specialist technology institutions as part ongoing revamp of the Kenya Meteorological Department.

One such opportunity the Ministry is considering is a public-private partnership with American weather and climate technology giant Tomorrow.io.

The envisioned collaboration aims to harness Tomorrow.io’s technological prowess to introduce modern methodologies and technologies, promising to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of weather and climate forecasting.

Tomorrow. io’s weather and climate security platform empowers businesses, governments, and countries to better predict and prepare for the operational impact of weather before it happens.

The prospective partnership signifies the government’s commitment to exploring innovative solutions, potentially benefiting various sectors across Kenya reliant on weather and climate information, ensuring more reliable and timely services.

The meeting held at 316 Upperhill Chambers was attended by the Chairperson of the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors Dr. David Ndii, and Environment and Climate Change PS Eng. Festus Ng’eno among other senior government officials.
