Kenyans are elated at the news that Monday the 13th of November has been announced as the country’s national planting day by Hon. Kindiki.

As the country embarks on the tree planting day, the Ministry of Environment recently launched the Jaza Miti App.

The app will provide Kenyans with comprehensive information on the species of trees to plant based on their location. Kenyans all over the country, when provided with this information will be able to make appropriate choices on the tree seedlings to buy and nurture in their respective regions.

This will ensure maximum success and growth of the various tree seedlings planted across the country.

Kenyans will also be able to track the progress of their trees, informing them of the needed care for these seedlings. This will be of significant impact to the Tree Planting Campaign H.E President Ruto launched at the end of last year.

In line with the BETA plan, reforestation of the country’s forests and rangelands is to enable the country make strides in the agricultural sector as well as encourage the economic activities that thrive in abundance of forests such as carpentry and construction.

To realize this goal, the government has made a target of planting more than 15 Billion trees in the next 10 years, with the President urging Kenyans to plant at least 30 trees each every years.
