President Ruto has presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of the KSh50 million Mwichiune Market in South Imenti, Meru County, symbolizing the initiation of a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing economic activities in the region.
Accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi, Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Members of Parliament, and Members of County Assemblies, President Ruto underscores the collaborative efforts between national and local leaders in promoting community development and infrastructure projects.
The KSh50 million investment in the Mwichiune Market sheds a light on the government’s continued commitment to improving market facilities.
Mwichiune Market will also be a fundamental facility of providing a conducive environment for businesses as well as stimulate economic growth within South Imenti and the wider Meru County.
The establishment of the Mwichiune Market is expected to facilitate trade, boost commerce, and create employment opportunities for local residents, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region and improving livelihoods.
“Small enterprises are engines of growth and business in our country. The construction of 400 fresh produce markets nationally will not only help increase the earnings of Mama Mboga, but also provide a decent environment for the traders,” stated H.E President Ruto.
President Ruto’s presence at the groundbreaking ceremony signified the importance of grassroots development initiatives.
This also underscores the Kenya Kwanza government’s dedication to empowering local communities through infrastructure projects that address their needs and aspirations.
