During an address at the inaugural Korea Africa Summit, President William Ruto revealed the significant role that Korea could play in transforming Africa. Ruto emphasized the importance of forging strong partnerships with Korean investors to harness Africa’s vast potential for growth and development.

During his speech, President Ruto declared, “This summit demonstrates a resolve to elevate this relationship and mobilize the political will needed for Africa and Korea to prosper together through mutually beneficial collaborations.” He further emphasized the need for equal partnership and win-win strategies to ensure the success of their joint endeavors.

Highlighting Africa’s untapped resources, including a dynamic youthful population, abundant arable land, renewable energy sources, and valuable mineral wealth, President Ruto urged for greater collaboration with Korean investors to exploit these assets for mutual benefit.

The 2024 Korea – Africa summit, hosted by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, served as a pivotal moment in strengthening ties between the two regions. Key areas of cooperation discussed at the summit include food security, science and technology, peace and security, and health security.

As both Africa and Korea look towards the future, the shared goal of promoting growth and sustainability remains at the forefront of their partnership, marking a significant step towards a prosperous future for both regions.
