The air in Teso North Subcounty was filled with excitement yesterday 10th November 2023 as the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education, Mr. Ezekiel Machogu, officially opened the doors of the newly commissioned Chemasiri Technical Training Institute. The ceremony was attended by the local Member of Parliament, Mr. Oku Kaunya, and officials from the Ministry of Education and TVET.

In his address, CS Machogu highlighted the importance of technical and vocational education in today’s job market. He spoke passionately about the potential for Kenyans with these skills to find employment opportunities, even abroad. Specifically, he mentioned the opportunity for skilled individuals to work in Germany, emphasizing the global demand for technical expertise.

Addressing the students, CS Machogu urged them to remain focused on their training, emphasizing that the skills they acquire at Chemasiri Technical Training Institute would open doors to numerous job opportunities. The institute, he noted, is not just a place of learning but a gateway to a brighter future for both the students and the community.

The commissioning of the training college is part of the government’s broader commitment to supporting technical and vocational education.
