This afternoon Cabinet Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, Hon. Ababu Namwamba hosted the National Olympics Committee (NOC), Kenya Olympics officials led by President Paul Tergat and SG Francis Mutuku, with only 200 days left to the global sports showpiece.

While receiving the status report, the CS expressed confidence at the preparations this far, not only by the Ministry but also by the administrative outfit emphasizing the edition as the Ministry’s top priority this calendar year.

“This is the Kenya Kwanza Government and the the Ministry’s maiden Olympics. We would like to inform the country that we will be heading into the 2024 Olympics fully prepared more than ever before,” he noted.

Highlighting challenges that have previously preoccupied and affected international outings, the CS reiterated that both NOCK and the ministry were keen on ensuring logistic issues,  travel and Visa, accommodation, pre-game trainings among others were all catered for in good time.

“200 days is such a short time left. We declare full and timely support that will power a successful outing for both our solo and team acts in Paris,” he further noted.

Sports PS, Eng. Peter Tum cemented his sentiments guaranteeing government resources behind the crucial event in the global sports calendar.
