The Firearms Licensing Board (FLB) has shifted its services to the eCitizen platform, aligning with a directive from the government. The FLB’s official statement on Tuesday, February 6, confirmed the integration with eCitizen, emphasizing that all payments will now be processed through the platform.

“The Firearms Licensing Board (FLB) wishes to notify all its stakeholders that the institution has seamlessly integrated with the eCitizen Platform and payments will henceforth be channeled through the eCitizen gateway on PAYBILL 222222,” stated the FLB.

This transition enables firearm owners and stakeholders to access a wide array of services through the eCitizen platform, including obtaining and renewing Firearm Certificates, acquiring Firearm Certificate Cards, processing requests for Ballistics and Variation, as well as applying for Temporary Permits and various firearm-related permits.

In a separate development, the University of Nairobi has implemented a similar change, mandating that all payments, including meal charges, be made through the e-Citizen platform. The university has established the necessary systems to facilitate payments through e-Citizen, with students required to use the pay bill number 222222 and their Outlet/Live identifier and name as the account number for meal payments at all university kitchens.

Moreover, the Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njunguna Ndung’u has announced new fees for utilizing the eCitizen platform for government services in Kenya. The fee structure, effective immediately, ranges from Ksh5 for payments below Ksh199 to $1 for payments in US dollars, outlining the charges for various electronic payment methods.

This transition to eCitizen for essential services reflects the government’s commitment to streamlining processes and enhancing accessibility for Kenyans.
