Interior PS Raymond Omollo says the government through its National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs) and the Ministry of Environment, has seen the pitting of holes and availing of over 150 million plantable seedlings at designated places across the 47 counties tomorrow.

PS Omollo, in a statement yesterday said the National Tree Growing Day is a proactive approach to addressing Climate Change and taking advantage of the ongoing short rains.

”Towards accelerating the 15B trees by 2032 campaign, advocated by President William Samoei Ruto, and for the love of nature, we are all encouraged to honour the holiday and plant at least two seedlings each,” PS Omollo said.

The 150 million plantable seedlings for the excercise are available at all Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) and Kenya Forest Service (KFS) nurseries across the country, as well as nurseries of other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government.
