Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reaffirmed President Ruto’s government dedication to addressing the concerns of the Kenyan Diaspora, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the nation’s socio-economic advancement. During a meeting with Kenyan Diaspora members in Germany, Gachagua reiterated the government’s commitment to engaging with Kenyans residing and working abroad to foster closer collaboration.

Gachagua stated, “Because we value their contribution to the socio-economic growth of our country, we make deliberate moves of meeting them, sitting with them, and discussing with them about Government development priorities.”

The Kenyan Diaspora plays a critical role in contributing foreign exchange to Kenya, making it a vital component for the country’s socio-economic development. To enhance services and address emerging concerns, the Ruto Administration established the State Department for Diaspora Affairs. This move aimed to appoint an accountable officer responsible for the Diaspora community, ensuring smooth service delivery and expeditious resolution of relevant issues.

Deputy President Gachagua’s meeting with the Kenyan Diaspora not only reaffirms the government’s commitment to its citizens abroad but also underscores the importance of their contributions to Kenya’s economic growth. The government seeks to maintain a proactive and collaborative relationship with the diaspora community to address their needs effectively.
