H.E Deputy President yesterday has an engaging strategic discussion with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt H.E Wael Naserldin Attiya. The Ambassador paid H.E Rigathi Gachagua a courtesy call at Harambee House Annex.

The party held discussions in deepening trade and investment in these sectors, as outlined under the Joint Commission for Cooperation and other frameworks.

Egypt is one of the biggest key destination for Kenya’s Agricultural produce.

President Ruto’s administration is enhancing the country’s economic ties through intensified trade, collaboration in Defense, Agriculture, Transport, Climate Change, Water Supply, Education and Knowledge Transfer in Scholarships, Tourism, among others.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua revealed that Kenya will host a forum for the Egyptian Business Community on investment, signaling a commitment to strengthen economic ties between the two nations. 

The DP also emphasized on the need for both countries to jointly invest for mutual economic benefit, expressing openness to collaboration in various sectors, including agriculture, education, technology, and tourism.

“It is gratifying to note the huge interest of the Egyptian Business community keen on investing in our country,” said H.E Gachagua after the meeting.

The Deputy President highlighted Egypt’s interest in various sectors such as extractives, agriculture, water, and power generation, while expressing Kenya’s openness to learn from Egypt’s successful ventures, particularly in mechanized agriculture.

Acknowledging the existing trade imbalance, Gachagua underscored the importance of working collaboratively to address it, signaling a commitment to enhancing the movement of people, goods, and services between Kenya and Egypt.

The party also held talks on other key issues touching on the two nations among them the steps of addressing visa requirements, for increased movement of the people.

The two leaders vowed to continue working with the Government of Egypt for the mutual benefit of each of the two countries.
