As one of the key pillars of Talanta Hela, forging deliberate and worthy partnerships continues to take a center stage for the Ministry of Youth Affairs CS Hon Ababu Namwamba in his quest to raise the level of Kenya’s Creatives and Sports sectors.

This afternoon, the CS met the Turkish Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Subutay Yuksel where they engaged in comprehensive deliberations targeting opportunities for the Kenyan youth as well as the promotion of the sports and the creative economy in the country.

In it, is the desire to forge deliberate and structured collaborations with Istanbul that will see Nairobi, leverage on Turkish technological advancement to support the development of key sporting and creative arts infrastructure, with Kenya offering its pristine high altitude training centers for use by the Turkish people.

While submitting Turkey’s desired areas of collaborations, Ambassador Yuksel assured the Cabinet Secretary that Istanbul was ready for partnership, owing to the spectacular and productive bilateral relationship that the two nations have enjoyed over time.

CS Ababu added: “Kenya and Turkey have had over many years of strong friendship and good traffic which has seen Istanbul extend tremendous support to us whenever we have called on her. We are keen to continue this collaboration to elevate our sports industry, in the youth and climate agenda as well as the creative economy,” he quipped.

“We will be delighted to see our team hosted in Turkey and look forward to more football interactions between our two nations. Our focus is on youth football development and this is an area where we are keen for partnership and support with Turkey,” remarked CS Ababu.

The CS called on the Turkish Ambassador to take advantage of the flagship Talanta Hela program for identifying, nurturing and monetizing talents, reiterating the huge success realized so far through the initiative that he said was now at the cruising altitude.
