The Ministry of Lands and Housing has invited the public to buy ready-made units within the government’s affordable housing project located in Bondeni, Nakuru County.

Interested buyers are encouraged to physically visit the site for viewing and later register on the Boma Yangu Portal to choose and purchase their preferred housing units.

Two-bedroom units, covering 64 square meters, are available for purchase at Ksh. 3.15 million, while three-bedroom units spanning 85 square meters are priced at Ksh. 4.25 million.

Prospective buyers are required to pay a 10% deposit to qualify for the purchase.

Qualified buyers will be offered a rent-to-own home loan, with monthly rates set at Ksh. 16,997 for two-bedroom units and Ksh. 22,933 for three-bedroom units.

This housing project is a crucial part of President William Ruto’s government initiative, primarily aimed at addressing the housing needs of over 6.5 million Kenyans living in slums and informal settlements.

The government’s broader objective is to construct 250,000 houses annually for low-income earners, easing the housing burden among this demographic. A substantial number of units have already been commissioned and are under construction across various locations in the country.

Despite encountering legal challenges, particularly regarding the collection of the Housing Levy termed as unconstitutional, President Ruto remains committed to the success of the project.
