The Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Mr. Mueke, has appreciated the very splendid work of the agripreneurs who have worked tirelessly in the livestock census across the country. Speaking in Mwingi, Kitui County, the PS thanked the teams who have a worked in every ward in the country to ensure that the government has the correct data on the amount of livestock in the country.

The PS stated that the Ministry of Agriculture has a masterplan on the development and funding and support to give to the farmers across the country. The strategies on how to best support the growth of livestock in the country will be greatly enabled by the data collected by the agripreneurs.

The Kenya Kwanza government is dedicated to improving all the sub-sectors of the Agricultural sector such as livestock farming. Provision of resources such as water, medicine, fonder and more, will be made easier with the data that this campaign has provided.

Mr. Mueke also mentioned that the government will now be able make an informed decision and choice while in the search for new markets for the country’s livestock products’ markets.

He expressed the honor to celebrate the incredible agripreneurs who have worked tirelessly in Kitui County enlightening our farmers about the farmers’ registration exercise.

He spoke of how these efforts will enable the State Department for Livestock Development to craft a robust Livestock Master Plan, ensuring precise resource allocation for our livestock farmers based on invaluable data.

Mr. Mueke also thanked them for the commitment to the agricultural community which is truly commendable.
