In line with Kenya Kwanza’s pointer to invest in women to achieve gender equality economically, eradicating poverty and spurring economic growth, Ho. Aisha Jumwa held a meeting with representatives from MasterCard .Inc.,  KCB representatives together with Ushanga Kenya Initiative Co-coordinator, Madam Dorothy Mashipei.

During the fruitful engagement, the MasterCard .Inc. and the Kenya Commercial Bank will be partnering with the State Department for Culture, the Arts and Heritage through the Ushanga Kenya Initiative to provide digital solutions that will enable them to:

1. Identify themselves and create traceability using the community pass solution.

2. Create a marketplace that will enable them to upload and display products on the E-commerce platform, providing women from pastoral communities with a permanent digital footprint, allowing them to interact with potential clients on all digital platforms in real time.

3. Providing women with a mobile Point of sale (POS) that will enable them to receive payments from local and international tourist and others when they visit the industrial parks.

4. Providing wearables as a form factor to be used by banks, Fintechs, and other government agencies to solve for schools and the youth.

This new move will make it possible for women to enjoy digital products that will drive financial inclusion and increase efficiency and effectiveness in their day to day operations.
