The meteorological department has warned Kenyans of expected heavy rains which might continue all the way to the end of January. As the rains get heavier, the government together with the Ministry of Health has highlighted the need to stay safe and healthy by adhering to the necessary guidelines.

Ministry of Health has Mapped stakeholders and identified available commodities, specifically related to cholera prevention and reproductive health kits, showcasing a strategic approach to resource allocation and distribution to affected counties.

The Ministry has established Emergency response structures, including the activation of national emergency operation centers. This will ensure a well-organized and timely response to mitigate the impacts of El Nino on public health.

Quantification of emergency stockpiles has been completed, and collaboration with stakeholders on resource mobilization demonstrates a forward-thinking strategy to ensure adequate resources are available to address health emergencies during El Nino.
