President William Ruto has set his sights on the Coast region, commencing a five-day development tour, a mere four months after his last visit in July 2023. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected to accompany President Ruto during this extensive tour aimed at launching and inspecting a plethora of development projects throughout the Coast region.

The President’s comprehensive itinerary includes traversing all five counties of the Coast region, focusing on the initiation and assessment of various developmental endeavors.

The tour’s schedule kicks off in Kilifi on Wednesday, where President Ruto will inaugurate the Mwakirunge road in the Rabai constituency.

President Ruto will convene a Cabinet Meeting in Mombasa and proceed to Kwale on Thursday. There, he will commission an electricity mini-grid at Wasini Island in Lunga Lunga and oversee the groundbreaking and inspection of the Shimoni fish port. The President will conclude his Kwale visit with inspections of the Dongo Kundu road and the Mombasa-Mtwapa road.

Friday sees President Ruto chair another Cabinet Meeting at Mombasa State House and tour Moi International Airport. The President will also preside over Taxpayers’ Day, where he will issue community fisheries grants.

On Saturday, the President’s agenda shifts to Lamu County, where he will commission the Lamu East road and inspect the Lamu Technical Training Institute and the Bura Irrigation Scheme. In Tana River County, he will oversee the commissioning of the Galole gravity water project and the issuance of community fisheries grants.

The tour concludes on Sunday with an Interdenominational thanksgiving prayer in Mombasa, followed by the inspection of the Baricho water supply project in Malindi and the commissioning of the last-mile electricity connectivity project in Ganze. The President will also tour the Kinango Technical Training Institute as he wraps up his five-day journey through the Coast region.
