The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Beyond Zero have announced scholarship opportunities for aspiring students to pursue a certificate course in Community Health Nursing, a program strongly supported by President Ruto’s administration.

The scholarships, set to commence in March 2024, aim to provide underprivileged individuals with access to quality education and empower them to make a positive impact in their communities.

“Qualified candidates from selected Arid and Semi-Arid counties, underserved minorities, and other vulnerable and marginalized groups will be given top priority,” emphasized KMTC CEO Kelly Oluoch, highlighting the administration’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and equity in education.

The two-year scholarships, offered at various KMTC campuses, including Kapenguria, Kabarnet, Bomet, Loitoktok, Garissa, Kilifi, Kitui, and Msambweni, underscore the administration’s dedication to expanding educational opportunities across the country.

“Applicants are expected to attach a handwritten essay of not more than 200 words explaining why they feel they deserve the scholarships and the contributions they will make to the community upon graduation,” Oluoch stated, reflecting the administration’s focus on nurturing future healthcare leaders who will serve their communities.

Furthermore, successful applicants will receive full scholarships for the duration of the course, with a strong emphasis on encouraging female candidates to apply, a testament to the administration’s commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
