Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki has assured Kenyans of heightened security even as the country joins the world in celebrating the biggest event in the Christian calendar.

Kindiki while conveying his Christmas message on his official X app account maintained that all security apparatus will continue to remain in force during the festivities.

“To all people of goodwill and the Christian fraternity in Kenya and worldwide: happy and blessed Christmas and new year festivities. We in the security sector will remain on duty throughout the season to ensure your safety and that of your families. May this special season help us to strengthen our bonds of family, Country and humanity,” he posted.

The government has been keen on ensuring that security is beefed up during the Christmas festivities.

Last week Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome recalled all police officers on leave to work immediately in a bid to enhance security in the country during the festive season.
