The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy, Mr. Eliud Owalo has officially launched a Jitume Digital Hub at the Kasarani Technical and Vocational College.

The CS launched the digital hub yesterday, on Monday the 25th of March.

At the launch, the CS noted that the Jitume Program is part of the Government’s Digital Transformation Agenda to create employment opportunities for the youth.

CS Owalo called upon the students to fully optimize the digital skills and computers availed through the Jitume Program to create digital jobs.

The government’s aim and objective of the Jitume Hubs is to equip youth with requisite digital skills and connect them with digital jobs locally and internationally.

The Government is keen to create digital entrepreneurs empowered to generate employment opportunities for other young people.

“Our fundamental objective is to get jobs for the youth”, remarked the CS at the launch.

Hon. Owalo pledged of the Government’s support to offer training opportunities and connect the students with global technological companies for virtual job opportunities.

In attendance were Kasarani MP Hon. Ronald Karauri, Konza Technopolis Chief Manager Business Development and Innovation Ms. Josephine Ndambuki, Regional Director TVET Ms. Mariam Hassan, Kasarani Technical and Vocational College Principal Ms.Josephine Begi accompanied by BOG representative Mr. John Kamuiru, Ruai Ward MCA James Karis, Deputy County Commissioner Mr. George Kamweru among other guests.
