In response to the widespread damage caused by the ongoing El-Nino rains, which have affected more than half of Kenya’s counties, Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua has quickly taken action to help the people affected by flooding in Mombasa.

Today, Tuesday November 21, 2023, at Barawa in Kisauni Constituency, Mombasa County, Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua, along with high-ranking officials, including Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), and Regional Development Peninah Malonza, and Principal Secretary for Treasury Dr. Kiptoock, led the distribution of essential food and non-food items to flood victims. This compassionate response brings much-needed relief, offering hope and support to the affected communities during these challenging times.

The food and non-food items, flagged off by Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua, will assist affected families in meeting their urgent needs for sustenance as they rebuild their lives. The government’s commitment to alleviating the suffering caused by the natural disaster is evident through the Deputy President’s hands-on approach in delivering aid.
