Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has issued a stern warning to security officers allegedly involved in facilitating the sale of illicit brews in Lumuruti, Laikipia County.

Gachagua, in a no-holds-barred statement, criticized those officers who have failed to adhere to President William Ruto’s directive on cracking down on illegal alcohol sales.

“We will not accept this negligence. While most of our officers are commendable, a few in Lumuruti are letting us down,” Gachagua stated firmly.

The Deputy President’s strong stance comes amidst growing concerns over the persistence of illicit brews and drugs in the region, despite government efforts to combat the issue. Gachagua emphasized the need for immediate action to tackle the problem at its root.

“We are committed to eradicating the menace of illicit brews. Those responsible for this must be held to account,” Gachagua asserted, signaling a zero-tolerance approach.
