Kenya and Germany have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering their bilateral ties for the betterment of their respective citizens.

President William Ruto expressed Kenya’s strong interest in expediting labour agreements between the two nations to facilitate increased labor mobility.

He stressed that organized migration would help curtail illegal relocation and offer more Kenyans the chance to work in Germany.

During a meeting on Monday, held on the sidelines of the G20 Compact with Africa Investment Summit in Berlin, President Ruto remarked, “Structured migration will play a pivotal role in curbing illegal relocation while creating ample job opportunities for Kenyans in Germany.”

The discussions between the two leaders also centered on the strategic importance of directing investments toward Africa, with both acknowledging the continent’s competitiveness.

Chancellor Scholz commended Kenya’s significant contributions in terms of capacity building and support for the upcoming elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.

Additionally, the German Chancellor pledged to provide assistance to Kenya in its Haiti Mission.

In conclusion, President Ruto sought Chancellor Scholz’s support for Germany’s advocacy efforts aimed at implementing reforms in the International Financial Architecture. These reforms are crucial for addressing the pressing debt crisis affecting numerous nations in the Global South.

President Ruto emphasized the importance of global cooperation in tackling this issue, stating, “We need collaborative efforts to find sustainable solutions to the debt crisis and foster economic stability worldwide.”
