Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) has received recognition as Africa’s Most Outstanding Medical Supplies Authority. The prize was awarded to KEMSA during an award event in Mauritius, where its CEO, Dr. Andrew Mulwa, was named winner of the renowned African Governance prize 2024.

Dr. Mulwa’s heartfelt acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the collective dedication of the KEMSA team. He lauded the resilience of KEMSA staff in the face of formidable challenges, stating, “Through perseverance, we ensured the supply of essential Medical Products and Technologies to the people of the Republic of Kenya.”

Dr. Mulwa emphasized the importance of a healthy population, stating, “Africa’s main resource and competitive advantage lies in its youthful and healthy population.”

Acknowledging the support from the government, Dr. Mulwa expressed gratitude for the government’s vital assistance and attributed KEMSA’s accomplishment to President William Ruto, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha, and the KEMSA Board of Directors.

The KEMSA CEO dedicated the award to the pupils and students of Watuka Primary School in Makueni County, where he received his early education, aiming to inspire and demonstrate that success is attainable regardless of one’s background.
