The Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) has commenced the rehabilitation and dualing of the Moiben-Eldoret Airport Road in Uasin Gishu county. This strategic development aims to address traffic congestion as Eldoret town gears up for elevation to city status.

Governor Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu expressed optimism during a consultative meeting with Kenha officials, emphasizing the importance of local involvement and fair compensation for affected residents. Governor Bii stated, “My administration has plans to construct a museum and we urge Kenha to extend a hand to support us for the success of the project.”

Furthermore, Uasin Gishu Roads executive Joseph Lagat highlighted the significance of improving link roads to enhance transportation and access to essential services. Lagat urged Kenha to prioritize the enhancement of identified roads to bitumen standards, stating, “Our engineers have already identified the link roads we would like you to support us improve.”

Stakeholder engagement and public consultative forums have been conducted to gather input for the project’s implementation phases, ensuring that all concerns are addressed. The forums will focus on design review, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments for the dualling and rehabilitation of key roadways in the region.
