In a strategic move to boost tourism revenue, the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) has announced plans to lease sites in national parks to investors for the development of hotels and camps. KWS is inviting interested and eligible investors to participate in the leasing, development, and management of tourism sites in selected national parks across the country.

The Tourism Cabinet Secretary, Alfred Mutua, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “Our talks focused on mutual interests, exploring the potential for American investors to establish tourist facilities in our parks and reserves through private-public partnership arrangements.” This partnership aims to enhance the tourism experience in Kenya’s renowned national parks.

The KWS tender notice dated Tuesday, April 2, earmarked 13 sites in various parks, including Nairobi National Park, Meru National Park, Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks, Amboseli National Park, and Aberdare National Park. The development plans include tented luxury camps, business hotels, restaurants, and lodges to cater to diverse visitor preferences.
