Kenyans living in China will have access to essential mobile consular services starting April 13. The State Department of Diaspora Affairs introduced this program during a webinar hosted by Kenya’s Ambassador to China Willy Bett. The initiative aims at to support Kenyan students in the region.

Ambassador Bett highlighted the significance of the services, stating, “This initiative aims to bring essential services closer to Kenyans living abroad, ensuring their rights and welfare are protected.”

The mobile consular services will include assistance with ID card applications and replacements, passport services, certificate authentication, birth certificate applications, and more.

The delegation will kick off the services in Beijing on April 13, then travel to Guangzhou, Shanghai, and conclude in Hong Kong on April 20. The move aligns with the government’s commitment to providing support to Kenyan diaspora worldwide.

Kenyan students were encouraged to focus on their studies and explore business opportunities during their time in China. Ambassador Bett urged them to respect local laws and culture, emphasizing, “Be courageous enough to think of new ventures.”
