Information Communication and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo has appointed seven members to the Communication and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal. The newly appointed Chairperson, Rosemary Wacera Kuria, leads a diverse team including Communications expert Patience Nyange and others poised to make an impact.

“This appointment is a crucial step in ensuring fair and transparent communication practices,” stated Owalo.

The tribunal, established under Section 102 of the Kenya Information and Communications Act 1998, holds the power to address grievances related to journalism and media conduct while upholding freedom of expression.

“This opportunity to serve on the Appeals Tribunal is an honor, and I am committed to upholding the principles of justice and freedom of speech,” expressed Nyange.

Nyange’s recent selection for a role at IGAD emphasizes her expertise in communication and will further enhance global outreach efforts under the leadership of Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu.
