Labour and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime, along with Deputy Ambassador to Italy in Kenya Lorenza Gambacorta, today visited E4Impact Foundation in Karen, Nairobi. The foundation, launched in 2015, focuses on training Small and Medium Enterprises in entrepreneurship and connecting them with international markets.

“In a country that has been termed as developing for years, the innovations what I have seen here today are the light to get to developed status”, Mr. Mwadime said, applauding the youth’s innovation encouraging them to keep up with the good work and create employment for  their fellow youth.

Expressing support for the youth’s entrepreneurial spirit, PS Mwadime acknowledged Kenya’s underdevelopment despite its rich resources and talented minds.

He however was happy to see the progress youth have made and emphasized of the government’s commitment to a Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda, aiming to address long-standing disappointments from the previous governments.

Later in the day, PS Mwadime and madam Lorenzo headed to Kizito Vocational Training in Mwihoko, Kiambu County, where he toured different innovations by students, highlighting the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs that empower youth with life-changing skills.

While addressing the students, Mwadime expressed confidence in their abilities and encouraged those facing financial challenges after training to utilize the Hustlers Fund, offering lower interest rates than traditional lenders.

Kizito Vocational Training annually graduates over 800 students in various skills, facilitating their seamless integration into both local and international job markets, including fields like electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, cosmetology, and catering.

The PS’s pledge signifies increased job opportunities and government support for Kenyan youth entrepreneurs.
