Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has warned individuals sponsoring border conflicts across the country of dire consequences.

Omollo who spoke in Migori, was particular about individuals inciting tribal conflicts which has been witnessed in areas of Angata Barakoi and Gwitembe along the border of Migori and Narok counties.

“As a government we are firm to ensure inter communial border conflicts are discouraged and arising issues addressed,” he said.

He says the government will deal firmly with individuals taking law into their own hands to cause mayhem among communities.

Omolo who had accompanied the principal secretary in the state department of trade Mohamed Daghar for an inspection of Migori airstrip said they are not going to allow individuals to incite violence between communities.

He announced that the state is taking action against individuals who are behind the clashes along the border of Migori and Narok counties among other regions as a detriment step to stop such vices.

“We are constantly in engagement with the local leadership on how best to resolve the sticking border issues,” he said.

The clash along the border of Migori and Narok has led to the death of individuals. 

Several people were recently injured after the two communities clashed along the border of the two counties.

The PS further appealed to the locals to allow law enforcement 9fficets to discharge their duties without any hindrance.
