Tourism and Wildlife CS Alfred Mutua has embarked on a mission to revitalize the tourism sector in Bungoma, urging county governments to harness cultural experiences to attract tourists and uplift local communities. Mutua, on the third day of his nationwide tour dubbed #UtaliiFresh, emphasized the untapped tourism potential across the country.

During his visit to Bungoma, Mutua highlighted the region’s rich cultural heritage, including traditional songs, dances, and culinary delights that could draw tourists if properly promoted. He stressed the importance of collaboration between national and county governments to develop infrastructure, conservation efforts, and sustainable tourism initiatives.

Mutua identified Nabuyole falls in Webuye as a hidden gem, proposing its development as a hiking site. He pledged support for projects like the Matulo airstrip construction, Luhya cultural and food festival, and the promotion of the ‘Kamabeka’ dance.
