President William Ruto officially launched the WRC Safari Rally Kenya today, Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. Ruto described the rally as a “special Easter gift,” emphasizing the possibility for families to join together and enjoy a spectacular spectacle throughout the holiday season.

Addressing the crowd, President Ruto exclaimed, “You really can’t find a rally as tough, compelling, beautiful and rewarding as the one in Kenya.” He assured participants of the excellent preparations made to provide top-notch racing tracks and engaging activities during the shakedown.

Furthermore, President Ruto reassured rally enthusiasts and drivers that stringent security measures had been implemented ahead of the highly anticipated WRC Safari Rally. With 29 drivers set to compete, including a lineup of international racers, the event promises intense competition and high-speed action.

Preparations for the rally have been in full swing, with the Service Park already erected by Sunday. The Safari Rally Kenya, the third round of the 2024 World Rally Championships, follows successful events in Rallye Monte and Rally Sweden earlier this year. Motorsport fans can expect a thrilling display of skill and excitement throughout the four-day event, ending on Sunday, March 31.
