Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday in Trans Nzoia urged residents to rally behind President William Ruto and lauded Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya for agreeing to work with the ruling regime despite being a member of the Opposition.
The DP said the Opposition has nothing to offer the people of Trans Nzoia, urging them to rally behind the Kenya Kwanza administration.
The country’s second-in-command suggested that Natembeya was destined to be in government, citing his previous roles including his last assignment as the Rift Valley Regional Commissioner.
“The blood of George Natembeya is government. You (George Natembeya) have no business in the opposition. You can’t even understand each other. You’re not someone to carry a pot on your head. You’re not a noisy person. You’re someone who has been in the government for a long time. Isn’t it true? Do you want him to join the government?” Gachagua posed to the congregation.
Gachagua was in Trans Nzoia to represent President Ruto during a fundraiser at the church.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha and a host of members of parliament and ward representatives accompanied him.
