Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has revealed that President Ruto’s administration has allocated Sh29 billion towards the advancement of technical and vocational education training centers (TVETs) in a move to boost youth empowerment and employment prospects.

Machogu emphasized the importance of this funding, stating, “This investment will revolutionize our education sector and provide students with the practical skills needed to excel globally.”

During the 10th graduation ceremony at Kisumu National Polytechnic, Machogu revealed plans to recruit 2,000 additional tutors and equip 70 TVETs with modern technology through a partnership with the Chinese government.

He declared, “We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of education and preparing our youth for the competitive global market.”

The implementation of the Competency-Based Education Training (CBET) program will focus on strengthening industry connections and equipping students with relevant skills through a dual training approach.

The construction of 16 new technical and vocational colleges this year aligns with the government’s vision of establishing one Technical Vocational College (TVC) per constituency.

President Ruto’s initiatives aim to transform the education landscape and empower the youth for a brighter future in the country.
