Labor Ministry Cabinet Secretary Hon. Florence Bore is in Germany where she arrived on Sunday to follow up on job opportunities initiated and discussed by H.E. The President Ruto and his counterpart German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
In the advancement of the follow-up, CS Bore held talks with Mr. Hubertus Heil, Minister for Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The two initiated talks centering on labor mobility between the two countries to eventually have a document and agreement that reflects the aspirations and needs of both Kenya and Germany.
The CS noted that Kenya is able and ready to supply the required labor to fill in the skills needed
Kenya stands as the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa and the second country in Africa with whom Germany is considering signing a labor mobility Agreement.
CS Bore also met with Mr. Tobias Bolle, Heiko Schwiderowski, Director for Africa Affairs and the Association of German Chamber of Commerce and Industries to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the various fields of labour.
The meeting which included representatives of the Confederation of German Employers’ Association and representatives of Recruitment Agencies was aimed at promoting a skilled workforce in Kenya.
Hon. Bore assured the delegation of qualified, hard-working, and disciplined labor force in various professionals in the fields of information communication technology (ICT), healthcare, construction, engineers, agriculture, hospitality, and transport among others.
